I was raised in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio by parents who immigrated to the United States from India over 40 years ago. They taught me the value of hard work and the importance of kindness and empathy. After graduating from Ohio State with an accounting degree, I lived in Chicago for 10 years and worked at a public accounting firm. After I married my husband, Scot, we decided to move to the suburbs of Indianapolis and start a family.
We have now lived in Fishers for about 10 years with our two young sons and our dog, Maizie. I currently work in the corporate accounting department at an animal health company. While being a working mom keeps me busy, I have enjoyed serving my community as a member of the Fall Creek Township Board for the past four years.
During my first term, the Township Board has worked with the Township Trustee on a number of initiatives that have reinforced Fishers as one of the best places to live in the United States. I'm particularly proud of the funding Fall Creek Township has provided to the Youth Mentoring Initiative, which provides mentoring services to students at various HSE Schools. In addition, we have had the joy of playing an active role in planning Fall Creek Woods, a natural area with miles of hiking trails right here in the township. I would be honored to be reelected and continue with my efforts to ensure that the benefits of living in this city are available to all of its residents.
